RAM JACK® Foundation Solutions
Are you planning to build a new home or business in the near future?
Perhaps a commercial or industrial facility? Does your current home or business have indications of foundation Problems?
Warning Signs May Include
The impact of water on expansive soils is the primary cause of foundation problems. Too much moisture causes the soil to swell, while too little moisture causes the soil to shrink. If all soils beneath a foundation shrink or swell somewhat uniformly there will unlikely be a problem. However, if only part of a foundation heaves or settles, the differential movement can cause cracks and other damage. Even with proper moisture conditioning and compaction of soils under a building pad during construction, soil structure can vary dramatically with seasonal climate and moisture changes such as heavy precipitation, frost or drought.
RAM JACK® Foundation Solutions began in Oklahoma in 1968 and continues to evolve as a highly reliable system of strong steel tubing called “piers” (or “piles”) driven deep into the ground—all the way to bedrock or suitable load-bearing strata. Ram Jack’s patented steel Helical Piers and Push/Resistance Piers provide distinct and lasting benefits over concrete piering and piling. With this advanced technology, RAM JACK of NEVADA can support your new foundation during construction or “lift” and secure the foundations of damaged structures. We are a licensed, certified dealer and installer of RAM JACK® Foundation Solutions.
RAM JACK® Helical Piers consist of steel shafts with round helix plates welded down various points of the shaft. They are used to transfer loads from upper surface soil layers to deeper, more suitable load-bearing rock or solid soil stratum. Piers are torque-driven into the earth until they reach bedrock or a minimum depth determined by engineers. Brackets are then attached on top of the piers to support construction of new foundations, or to rest under the foundations of existing structures. Helical Piers are the product of choice for new construction applications. Piers are driven into place and capped with pre-construction brackets. Brackets are then anchored to rebar in the foundation before concrete is poured. Helical Anchors or tie-backs can also be driven at various angles to support retaining walls, tower structures, light poles, large tents and other similar structures.
RAM JACK® Push Piers are also known as Resistance Piers, since they push against or use the resistance of an existing structure’s foundation to drive themselves to a depth in the ground where the strata directly supports the load of the structure. Push Piers are the most common solution for repairing damaged foundations. These round, steel pipe piles are hydraulically-driven into the ground and combined with various foundation attachment brackets used to “underpin” the foundation of an existing structure. The assembly is driven vertically below the foundation or footing of a structure to bear on rock or a solid soil stratum. Hydraulic jacks or cylinders are then used to raise the affected areas where settlement has occurred in a structure, resulting in Maximum Practical Recovery of the structure’s elevation.
